An open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24. The free event includes vendor booths, food, live music, plant sale and silent auction.
The first class on summer planting will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7.

Garden celebrates first anniversary

The Fountain Hills Community Garden has grown significantly in the one year since its opening and gardeners want to show off the improvements.
An open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24. The free event includes vendor booths, food, live music, plant sale and silent auction.
The first class on summer planting will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7.
The class is free to members or $5 for non-members.
You’ll learn the basics of summer gardening and the plants that can survive the heat. Think melon, okra, corn and basil.
April 11, from 6 to 7 p.m., is the time for the free monthly social. Meet other gardeners, make new friends and learn gardening tips from others. It’s open to the public.
April 14 has been set aside for a garden workday. Wear work clothes and shoes, and bring gloves and garden tools to help out. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
Participants will get the garden ready for the Dark Sky Festival from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21.
