Gardeners should notify Community Garden organizers by Oct. 1 if they plan to rent their raised bed next year.

The second phase of the garden is expected to be launched in January.

Gardeners deciding not to plant crops during the summer are asked to clean out thebned and return in September for fall planting. The irrigations system should be turned off and the shade cloth turned in.

A second option is to continue the current garden and “see what happens.” Monsoon gardening may provide needed rain to experiment with low water seeds.

If you feel you gave it a try and don’t want to finish out the year with your garden bed, contact a garden manager.
