Gay: Ginny Dickey is a recognized leader

Posted

It’s been an interesting campaign for mayor of Fountain Hills.

It’s clear that Fountain Hills Mayor Ginny Dickey is indeed engaged as our town’s leader. Ginny Dickey is recognized locally as a person who cares for our town. She’s positioned Fountain Hills as a welcoming, safe community at home and regionally. She does her homework. She’s served our community for more than 22 years as an elected person. She’s raised three kids K-12 in FHUSD. And she’s lived here more than 40 years.

I read that Mayor Dickey is endorsed by 10 regional mayors, including mayors in Mesa, Phoenix and Scottsdale; eight current or previous Fountain Hills councilpersons; four past Fountain Hills school superintendents, two former Fountain Hills School Board members, a former Fountain Hills fire chief – all with varied affiliations – some Republican, some Democrat, some Independent. She is supported by more than 40 local community members, all with service to Fountain Hills, representing all backgrounds.

Almost a dozen organizations support Mayor Dickey, including three local utilities, groups of workers, and advocacy groups. The Fountain Hills Chamber rated Mayor Dickey their #1 choice. Business groups are pretty clear-eyed about who they endorse, as so much rides on the economic success of the communities they serve. Mayor Dickey was recognized in 2022 as one of “48 of Arizona’s Most Intriguing Women.”

My hands started cramping jotting down all the endorsements!

As I said, it’s clear to me why we should reelect Ginny Dickey on Tuesday, July 30.  She’s right for Fountain Hills.
