Young has been working with genealogy for more than 40 years. He is a retired technology specialist with the federal government. He authors several blogs, including www.familyhistorytech.com, that investigates technology and genealogy.

Young has taught genealogy courses at the local community college, and has been a presenter at FHExpo, Rootstech 2014, and local Family History Society meetings across the greater Phoenix/Mesa area.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Family History Society of Arizona and the Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board. He also is a Rootstech 2016 Ambassador and a delegate to the Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board.

Monday’s meeting will be at the Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana, between the Library and the Town Hall.

The meeting is held in Navajo room starting at 9 a.m., with Young’s talk starting at 10 a.m.

Martha Cramer, chapter member, will share how to use cloud storage, the use of scanners and sharing and syncing data.

The Fountain Hills Chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona meets every month from September through May on the second Monday of each month.

Everyone is invited to attend, and mentors are happy to assist beginners in family research.

Bring those questions and concerns: How to begin, how to understand some of those findings, ask about genealogy programs, have you hit a brick wall?

After the meeting guests are invited to have a no-host lunch with members at a local restaurant.
