Renowned researcher Lisa Alzo will be the keynote speaker and present topics of interest to family history researchers.

Genealogy Society hosting state meet here

The Fountain Hills chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona (genealogy) is hosting a statewide annual meeting and seminar Saturday, March 7.

Renowned researcher Lisa Alzo will be the keynote speaker and present topics of interest to family history researchers.

The event will be at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

Cost is $40 for members and $45 for non- members (includes box lunch).

Refreshments will be served.

Check-in is from 8 to 8:45 a.m., the seminar begins at 9 a.m. and the annual meeting starts at 2:15 p.m.

Also has been an avid genealogist for 22 years. She currently teaches online genealogy courses for Family Tree University and the National Institute for Genealogical Studies and is a frequently invited speaker for national conferences, genealogical and historical societies.

Alzo earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in nonfiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She grew up in Duquesne, Penn. and currently resides in Ithaca, N.Y.

Her topics will be as follows:

*Using a Genealogy Research Log

*Silent Voices: Telling the Stories of Your Female Immigrant Ancestors

*The Write Stuff: Using Nonfiction Writing Techniques To Write a Better Family History

A Friday evening presentation with Alzo on March 6 is also being planned.

Fountain Hills residents interested in genealogy are invited to attend.
