Gerry Friedel is a proven leader for Fountain Hills

OPINION — As a resident of Fountain Hills and former mayor, I am writing to express my appreciation for the steady and effective leadership of Mayor Gerry Friedel since he took office in 2024. In a relatively short time, Mayor Friedel has demonstrated a deep commitment to the "bricks and mortar" of our community — both literally and figuratively.

Under his watch, we have seen a significant and necessary focus on our town’s infrastructure. The allocation of over $10 million for road repairs, including the major work on Palomino Boulevard and the recent initiative to address our neighborhood streets, shows that he listens to the daily concerns of residents. Furthermore, his ability to prioritize the $6.5 million lake liner project while maintaining our town’s unique position of having no primary property tax is a testament to his decades of financial expertise.
