Get a permit for A-frame signs

Town Hall has announced that business owners wanting to use A-frame advertising signs have until the end of the week to obtain a permit before facing potential penalties.

In December the council voted to extend the rules that allow the use of A-frames and banners for an additional year. However, continued extension in the future will depend on how well businesses comply with the regulations, including obtaining a $5 permit to attach to their sign.

Development Services Director Paul Mood said there have been very few businesses asking for the permit over the past month, so he is urging those wanting to use an A-frame to obtain a permit. Mood said enforcement efforts will begin next week.
