The high school track team had a strong showing at the state meet, producing a state champion and a second place girls squad overall.
The local team managed to qualify 18 athletes for the season-ending event, which was hosted last Friday and Saturday out of Mesa Community College.
Trista Smith helped lead the team with a first place pole vault launch of 11’, besting her own school record. All told, the girls managed to bring home enough points to earn a second place finish overall.
