Give and take

I chose to live in Fountain Hills because of all it provides. It provides a small hometown feel that is safe to live in, with fairs, celebrations and hometown parades.

It provides numerous recreational areas, sports fields, hiking trails and Fountain Park. It provides an excellent school district with wonderful teachers. It provides friendly, locally-owned businesses. It provides a first class community theater. It provides a variety of restaurants from fast food to fine dining, and is devoid of the traffic congestion that occurs in our neighboring communities. It provides the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and make friendships that will be long lasting.

It gives us excellent property values. It gives us some of the most beautiful scenery in Arizona, from the breathtaking view driving into town on Palisades Blvd., to the sunrises behind Four Peaks, and the sunset reflections on Red Mountain. Fountain Hills is nothing short of stunning.

And now Fountain Hills needs us to give it something. It needs us to help fix the infrastructure, like our crumbling roads. It needs us to help with sanitation and the quality of water in our fountain and Fountain Park. It needs us to help shoulder the cost of our police and fire protection. It needs us to protect our property values. It needs us to invest in its future so it continues to thrive and stand like the jewel it is.

I’ve personally taken from Fountain Hills for 14 years. It hasn’t asked for anything in return, until now. I can’t turn my back on it. I’ll vote yes for the property tax on May 15. I’ll gladly help save our town!
