Gloria J. McConville (nee Bourbeau), 82, the daughter of Helen and Harry Bourbeau, left us on June 25, 2013 to be with her “sweet husband, Mac” and “her Jesus.”
She is preceded in death by her parents (Mike and Helen Kendzierski, Harry Bourbeau), husband (Clarence “Mac”) and daughter (Teresa).
She is survived by her children Mary (Dick) Langdon, Casey (Jim) Rohe, Tom (Kristin) McConville, Father James Patrick McConville, seven grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, her sister Kathy (Dick) Fair, cousin Everett (Pat) Bourbeau and several nieces and nephews.
After Gloria graduated from Edison High School she was employed at Minnesota Title, where she met her husband, Mac. They married in 1953 and started a family.
Mac continued his career at Minnesota Title (becoming president and CEO), attributing his success to Gloria’s support.
In addition to being a wife and mother, Gloria found time to follow her dreams and became an accomplished artist and needlepoint designer. Her work can be found in the Minnesota Governor’s mansion, the Community Church in Rio Verde and private homes across the country.
Mac and Gloria moved from Eden Prairie to Rio Verde, Ariz. after Mac’s retirement. Following Mac’s death in 2011, Gloria returned to Minnesota, where she developed new friendships and continued to impact the lives of people she met.
Gloria had a gift of making people feel special. She was generous and genuine, quick witted and lived her life as if dressed in “diamonds and tennis shoes.” She was Mac’s “straight man” and his biggest fan. She was a good and devoted friend.
The celebration of Gloria’s life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 535 S. Lewis Street, in Shakopee, Minn. on July 1 at 1 p.m. Interment at Fort Snelling will immediately follow the celebration.
