The restoration work at Golden Eagle Park to recover from damages caused by flooding in October is progressing, but there is still a lot of work to do, according to Parks Superintendent Kevin Snipes.
Late last week the three ball fields were being leveled and work began on replacing damaged irrigation components. Fence framing and fabric are being repaired or replaced as needed.
The infield and warning track mix are to be delivered possibly by the end of this week. That material will be leveled once on site.

The restoration work at Golden Eagle Park to recover from damages caused by flooding in October is progressing, but there is still a lot of work to do, according to Parks Superintendent Kevin Snipes.
Late last week the three ball fields were being leveled and work began on replacing damaged irrigation components. Fence framing and fabric are being repaired or replaced as needed.
The infield and warning track mix are to be delivered possibly by the end of this week. That material will be leveled once on site.
Snipes said depending on weather, they are planning for sod delivery and installation the first week in January.
Work is also ongoing with the dredging and channeling of wash drainage through the park. That is a public works project.
Also, in anticipation of improvements and new playground equipment at Four Peaks Park the old basketball courts have been demolished.
