Head coach, Jody Wilson, said he was pleased with the way things shook out for Fountain Hills’ first match.

“I feel good about the match and the way we played,” Wilson said. “Respectively, I don’t think the team played their best. As a coach you always want your team to do their best but it is encouraging to see them still succeed when things are off.”

Wilson said he attributes the Falcons being a little off their game to first time nerves.

“I had two freshmen play their first match and a few guys play their first varsity match,” Wilson said. “It is 100 percent nerves that will just go away once they become more comfortable. Playing an official match is a little different than practice, with the spectators there and all.”
