Ballots have been received. The Voter Information Pamphlet has been received and hopefully been read by many or most voters. The town held its last informational meeting on Monday afternoon, April 30. Information has been posted on the town’s website on multiple pages. Websites have been created both for and against the tax. Our local newspaper has covered the issue thoroughly and made its endorsement. It is now time to make an informed decision and vote.

I have studied the issue and I have decided to vote yes. As a conservative Republican, it is only after studying an issue very thoroughly that I will approve new spending or new taxes. In this current situation I feel confident that my yes vote is the right thing to do. I can hardly think of a better investment in the future of our town than approving this proposed tax. We are a wonderful and unique community and the revenue is needed.

I am pleased that I am in good company with the endorsement by The Times and knowing that both Ginny Dickey and Cecil Yates, both John and Linda Kavanagh, all current council members and the many others mentioned in the recent advert by the Save Our Town committee will also be voting yes.
