We are not opposed to development as long as it’s good development. Daybreak is scheduled to be 400 multi-family one-, two-, three-story buildings with independent and assisted living at the major portal to Fountain Hills.
Everyone states they don’t want us to be Sun City East, but why is it that every developer keeps pushing assisted living on us and the town council keeps accepting these absurd developments? If this is what we need, place it appropriately where, as we get older, we can still enjoy walking to the supermarket, restaurants, parks, library and community activities. What happened to affordable housing for young families?

In addition to the design that does not fit in the neighboring community, the developers are requesting to take many acres of OSR and Hillside Protection Easement. If public safety makes up to one half of the town’s budget, the ingress and egress of this development should concern everyone in this town who drives on Palisades Blvd.
This land should be developed with the good intentions of luxury living that fits in at this beautiful, pristine desert with rolling hills, washes and saguaros. That is a good reason to preserve this beautiful piece of desert at the major gateway to our town!
