I would like to thank the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25 -37 World English Bible) who kindly rescued me last Sunday at Target where I was buying new appliances. I was having problems paying my bill with credit cards because I had changed purses and stupidly put the wrong cards in my wallet and did not remember what pin number went with what card.
I told the cashier that I lived across the street and would return in five minutes with the proper card. The cashier said she could open a Target card for me, but the woman behind me was in a hurry, as she told me she had a “sick husband,” and decided it was faster for her to pay part of my bill in the name of expediency since the line behind me was getting long.
I agreed on the condition that I too would pay forward. I did not have time to learn her name because customers were getting impatient. Whoever this good woman was, I want to thank her profusely, and let her know that I sent a check to the Arizona Humane Society to appease my conscience and donated the old appliances to the Viet Nam Veterans.

“Go and do likewise;” (Luke 10:30-37 World English Bible.)
Despite all our social problems in this complex society, Americans are the most generous and kindest people I know. I hope my neighbor’s husband gets well soon.
My sincere gratitude, from the woman in the blue outfit with the blue purse, but with no head for numbers.
