Good Samaritans

We have been wintering in Fountain Hills for the past 25 years. recently, our friends, along with my husband and I, were heading out late one afternoon for a bite. After we picked up our friends, we proceeded North on Palisades. After driving about a mile, our vehicle started to sputter. I tried to step on the gas, but to no avail. I was able to go up a small hill and start turning. Lo and behold, it died right on the turn.

We immediately called AAA, gave information and arranged for service as we were in a very dangerous position on the street. Soon, a car pulled up behind us. It happened to be Amy, a detective, to see if she could be of assistance. She saw we were in the process of arranging for service. Off she went, a very sweet, helpful lady. A few minutes later, she came back with her daughter to see if we were all fine. Her mother, who was in the car, was concerned about us. She took our friend to get his car so we would have transportation. Amazingly, the residents of the corner house saw us, for strangers, all standing outside on the side of the roadway. They brought us bottles of nice, cold water; it was a hot afternoon. How we appreciated that.

Before the tow-away service came, two other individuals came by. One stopped and parked across the street and the other turned the corner and stopped. They decided to push our big van around the corner, to the side of the street. Yes, the two gentlemen, one friend, the detective and her daughter pushed it like a toy car round the corner and into a much safer location. How we appreciated their concern and kindness.
