Congratulations to the 50 major businesses that closed for giving thanks to their employees with a paid holiday to spend with their friends, families or even just a day to relax. Maybe even more businesses will decided to reverse the “Profit Day” to return to “Gratitude Day” for the loyal employees who contribute so much to their success.

Friends from Canada told me they observe Thanksgiving quietly on Oct. 8 each year. We support people less fortunate, not just at the holidays. We hope everyone who reads this will join in with whatever you can share with a sanctioned non-profit of your choice.

One more prayer now, if I may: May wisdom and compassion dominate governments of all nations in 2019 and all the years forward. May peace, healthy farming, integrity in business and genuine respect for each other be blessings for prosperity.
