The Great Fair is set to kick off in just a couple of days, helping to remind those of us here at The Times why the road leading into spring is one of our favorite times of year around Fountain Hills.

The Great Fair is a kick-off event of sorts, getting the ball rolling on weeks upon weeks of events and activities going on around town. As the weather starts to turn from cold to warm (but not too warm, just yet), Fountain Hills residents take advantage of the season with a steady stream of reasons to get outside.

This weekend’s fair is set to run from Friday through Sunday, Feb. 24-26. And just to show off how dedicated organizers are to this huge community event, you can expect to be able to walk down the Avenue of the Fountain and check out what vendors have to offer no matter what the weather is like. Yes, I just got done saying that the weather is great this time of year but, according to all of the weather gurus, winter might not be done with us quite yet here in 2017. We’ve got our fingers crossed for fantastic conditions and a more fantastic turnout, so we hope to see you there. As a final reminder, this weekend’s big event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, so feel free to take your time and really soak in everything there is see, eat, drink and buy.

Then, next weekend, we’ve got the popular Memorial Disc Golf Tournament coming to town, drawing players and visitors from all over the world to enjoy the Fountain Park course.

After that, we’re just around the corner from events like the Eggstravaganza, the Mountain to Fountain race, the St. Patrick’s event, Music Fest and more.
