I was asked several times at the WisconsinFest celebration last Saturday, “What is the date for next year’s WisconsinFest?” That’s how much fun people were having at the River of Time event meeting with friends, listening and dancing to the music, enjoying Johnsonville brats and definitely the cold beer. So mark your calendars! It will be held on March 12 and we’ve already begun planning some new ideas to implement for 2016.
A huge thank you to the cadre of volunteers who made everything happen last Saturday. First of all, Kurt Paré who chaired the event (and that is a big job). To John Hepburn for his excellent marketing. To Susan Titus in charge of decorations, Gerry Colbert for managing the food tables and acting as emcee, Anne Wicklund for taking care of the silent auction; Gerard Bisceglia for heading up the raffle team, Niobe and Teena Borman for efficiently handling the sale of brats, Ellie Kiewel, Rosi Marso and Arlie Denomme for selling the merchandise, Vicki Thompson for selling cookies, our capable bartenders Anna Myhr, Noreen and Ciara Kurdzialek and Bob Vonderhaar, photographer and webmaster Wayne Wicklund and to all of the following who saw things needing doing – and did them: Bob Titus, Pat Solski, Kathy and Jack Mateski, Anne Bisceglia, John and Jean Greenwood, Joe Thompson, Don and Jeannie Meier, John and Barb Rex, Fran Intervallo, Chuck and Myrna Frederickson, Carol Frederick, Larry Nicholson, Lisa Poll, Nancy McNamara, JoAnne Collins, and friends of volunteers who came too and took on a job.
Many thanks also to the band – the JDK Trio – and to the museum’s director, Luke Bate, who was everywhere doing everything!
