The Town of Fountain Hills has done, in my opinion, a great job of balancing the money they have with the needs of the community.
As vice president of ADOG, when we brought the fact that the off-leash dog park was falling into disrepair to the town’s attention, the town realized the asset they had with the park and was able to find funds to correct the problem.
But the scale is shifting and we no longer have the revenue stream that we once had. We desperately need new revenue and I feel the fairest way to raise those funds is through the introduction of a local primary property tax. Fountain Hills has been blessed with one of the lowest tax rates in the Valley and I feel it’s time to replenish the town coffers and introduce a primary property tax. It’s the only way we will be able to meet our current and future needs for infrastructure repair and maintenance that is fair to all residents of Fountain Hills.
