Great place

What a great place to live during the winter/spring. Lots of great events to attend, watch or participate in.

A couple of weeks ago we had another great Great Fair all along Avenue of the Fountains and Saguaro Blvd.

Weekend before last we had the Memorial Championship Disc Golf Tournament presented by Discraft in Fountain Park. Last Friday through Sunday, we had the Fine Art and Wine Affaire along Avenue of the Fountains, produced by Thunderbird Artists.

Last Saturday we had the Kite Festival and, on Sunday, we had the highly successful St. Pat’s at the Fountain festival with our famous Fountain turning green at 1 p.m. This festival was put on by Fountain Events, Inc. and raised money for veterans and local charities.

This week, on St Patrick’s Day itself, we have another St. Paddy’s festival and, once again, the fountain will turn green at noon. This has been a town tradition for many years.

The River of Time Museum is having a special Thursday Theater which will educate the public about the history of this event with Grace Guetter, Town of Fountain Hills Tourism Coordinator, giving a presentation on the museum patio and then proceeding to the Fountain.

And this Sunday, March 20, from 1-4 p.m., the River of Time Museum will have a special program with live raptors and reptiles on the patio. The live exhibit was created by fourth grade students from the FHUSD who prepared displays with a focus on living creatures in the Sonoran Desert that can be found around Fountain Hills. The students studied their chosen topics and designed posters, photo displays and models that teach us about local wildlife.
