Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church will offer a 13-week Griever’s Journey to help those suffering from the loss of a loved one.

The program starts Saturday, Jan. 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., to help those suffering.

A trained facilitator who has gone through a personal journey of grief and now assists individuals will lead the seminars. The facilitator will equip participants with tools needed to journey through a difficult time, heal and move forward in rebuilding their lives.

“Our lives are marked by change and losses and some are life-altering, such as the death of someone dear to us,” said Michele Halsey, director of Griever’s Journey, LLC - Grief Ministry.

“Whether it’s been recent, or many years ago the Griever’s Journey sessions … can help to meet people where they are in their grieving process and give comfort and assistance in this very difficult time.”

The 90-minute sessions involve three distinct elements. The group will view several video seminars featuring experts on grief and recovery subjects. Produced in an interesting-to-watch format, these videos feature expert interviews, real-life case studies and dramatic reenactments.

Group members will have time to discuss the difficulties in their lives and the many challenges and changes they now face.

The non-denominational Biblically-based program can help grievers resist the pull toward despair and help to start people on the road back to finding their joy.

During this time there will also be opportunities to use materials provided for further personal study of individuals grieving process and also help sort out emotions through journaling, workbooks and discussions. The group will spend time sharing and addressing questions and comments from the materials provided.

If a Christ-centered, church-based, scripturally sound and spiritually-led program could benefit you or someone you know in the healing process, call Michele at 480-313-6814 to reserve a place.
