Volunteers from the Verde Communities completed their 29th home for Habitat for Humanity this past winter season.
The Verdes Habitat Project provides both funding and volunteer construction help for a Habitat project each year. This year 35 volunteers built the home in 15 days with support from Habitat for Humanity staff in Phoenix this year. The fundraising goal of $130,000 was also achieved with additional donations available for future cost overruns and rising costs of materials, according to Verdes Habitat spokesperson Christie Gorsline.
This year the home was built for Alexandra Zamora and her three children. The family offered its appreciation to the Verde team.
