Have a chuck wagon meal, name the horse
Posted
A new horse has a new home at the River of Time Museum, but like the song says, he’s a horse with no name…
In fact, the horse seems quite content to have his nose petted every day by visitors and museum volunteers.
However, the Historical Society feels strongly that the horse needs a good, strong name.
Many museum visitors have already put their suggestions in a sealed special container.
The winning name will be drawn at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the “Chuck Wagon Meal on the Patio” event at the museum.
The person submitting the winning name will receive a 20 percent discount at the Holiday Mart, which is now open in the lobby of the Museum/Library building.
Chuck wagon chili and corn bread will be served at the Chuck Wagon Event beginning at 3:30 and ending at 6 p.m. The cost is $10 per person. Alcoholic drinks will be extra.
On hand will be Fountain Hills’ own Arizona Kid Carlos Hadaway and the designer of the ranching exhibit, Alan Pape.
Both cowboys will gladly answer any questions about the P-Bar Ranch that once occupied the land where Fountain Hills High School now sits.
Reservations for the event are required. Call 816-4186 or e-mail president@riveroftimemuseum.org. Seating is limited.
