Heat is on

I have stood at my Pizzelle Pastries “stand” at the Four Peaks Plaza (outside between Target and The Dollar Tree) trying to promote my business in 29 degree temperatures this past winter, drizzle or windy -- it mattered not -- and now, in 105 degrees. I have to admit -- the heat has finally won!

So in an effort to stay in business, I will adjust my baking hours to begin even earlier and then be out at “my spot” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday with a variety of flavors of freshly-baked pizzelles (gluten-and wheat-free now offered in vanilla and lemon).

Fridays I am at the Mesa Farmers Market and Saturdays at the Gilbert Farmers Market until 11 a.m. -- then I will be back in Fountain Hills from 12 to 2 p.m. at “my spot” on Saturdays.

Since January I have donated my pizzelles to different community outreaches but would like to do more -- so, during the month of June, in an effort to give back to the Fountain Hills community for its incredible support, I will be donating a portion of each sale to the Extends Hands Food Bank.

And to those who suggested I get on ABC’s Shark Tank -- it just may happen! They have called three times and we are trying to work it out. Exciting times despite the heat!
