It may be hard to believe, but every resident of Fountain Hills can have a hand in shaping the town’s future simply by going online and taking part in a brief survey.
No, you still might not get that 16-screen movie theater you’ve been hoping for, but your opinion will still be heard loud and clear on a variety of topics.
Last year, the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association organized the VisionFH committee, a group of community volunteers from all walks of life who share a common goal: Helping guide the future of Fountain Hills with input from the community. The committee is taking four key areas into consideration, including education, community finances, economic prosperity and quality of life.

That’s a big undertaking, but you have to start somewhere, right? Instead of sitting around and wishing for change in the community, VisionFH is not only trying to help enact it, but do so with the help of all stakeholders.
To that end, VisionFH has put together a community survey that can be found on their website at visionfh.org. There, you’ll find a collection of brief questions looking at everything from recreational and learning culture opportunities to public safety, economic vitality and more. You’ll be able to have your say on the quality of life in Fountain Hills, chime in on the parks and what types of new development you’d like to see included in the town’s future.
There are even a couple of fields for you to provide more personal input regarding your answers and what you consider to be the most pressing matters facing Fountain Hills in the next five years.
VisionFH co-chairman Jerry Butler stated it well when he said that the group “wants everyone to be heard and help write the next chapter in Fountain Hills’ history.”
Before anyone can begin writing that chapter, there’s plenty of research to do first. We encourage everyone to take a moment and fill out the survey to help VisionFH make sure that its future actions are guided by as many voices as possible. The deadline to chime in is March 31.
