I’ve found that often the letters to the editor are as informative as the news. The letter from Diane Copeland entitled “BAT is BAD” was clever, informative and caused me to consider many things.

I’d heard the term Border Adjustment Tax but didn’t think through or explore exactly what that meant. I’ve now done some research and really can see how much this would directly affect most everything we buy.

Our needs will remain the same, but the price could go up as much as 20 percent. Until there are new jobs and tax cuts, I don’t think the public is ready to pay more for essentials like gas and shoes.
