After George Zeliff transitioned from a journalist’s life to being a full-time educator last summer, he also ended up making another transition — or an evolution of one of his previous roles.
Zeliff played tuba in the Georgia Bulldogs Redcoat Marching Band during his college years. During the past school year, he took over as director of the Fountain Hills High School marching band.
Zeliff, who’s also a digital communications teacher at FHHS, is trying to build the “Fighting Flock of Falcon Fury,” as the band is known, up in both numbers in an effort to help win competitions and be prominent throughout the state.
