High school volleyball squad begins fundraising efforts

Posted

As the fall sports season gets up and running, the Fountain Hills High School volleyball squad is gearing up with a pair of new promotions, including a sponsorship drive and an Adopt-A-Falcon to help fund program needs.

For more information on these programs, contact Dianne Stricker at dstrick9@msn.com or coach Peter McGloin at ladyfalconsvb@gmail.com.

Sponsorships

Team parents are helping organize new sponsorship opportunities for the high school volleyball team.

Program sponsorships are being offered in two tiers, including $250 and $500. For $250, participants will receive a half-page add in the season program, as well as be included in an announcement during halftime at home games. The $500 level includes a full-page ad in the program, a 2.5x4’ banner on the gym wall and inclusion in an announcement during home games.

The Falcons are also looking for T-shirt sponsors at the $500 level. This level includes the company name on the shirts, a half-page add in the program, a 2.5x4’ banner on the gym wall and inclusion in the halftime announcements.

Adopt-A-Falcon

The Falcons are holding another adopt-a-thon this season, where businesses, families or fans can “adopt” a player to root for during the upcoming season.

The event will be hosted out of The Hills Pizza on Friday, Aug. 18, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

At the basic level, a player can be adopted for $100. Participants will receive a souvenir program, mention as a sponsor in the season programs, and free entry for one person at the Sept. 5 home match.

There’s also a team adoption option for businesses that goes for $1,000. At this level, two people can get into every home game at no additional charge. You’ll also receive recognition on a 2.5x4’ banner in the gym, a full page ad in the program, a sponsor plaque with the team picture and inclusion during halftime announcements.

2017 season

According to coach McGloin, the team is looking to shine again in 2017, fresh off of a state championship in 2016 for both the indoor and beach volleyball squads.

“The volleyball program continues to thrive this year,” explained a letter recently distributed to team parents.

The volleyball program has enough participants to once again offer three teams for participation, including a freshman, JV and varsity team.

The letter went on to encourage participation in the various fundraising efforts for the team.

“You can see why we’re so excited for this year and we’d like to formally invite you to support this growing program,” reads the statement. “Please consider participating in our fundraising efforts to help our self-funded program run smoothly, efficiently and to create a fun environment for our teams and community.”

The statement explains that all funds raised through sponsorships and the Adopt-A-Falcon drive will be applied directly to the volleyball program to enhance the sport’s services, fund tournament fees, travel, equipment and athletic apparel.

“Volleyball is one of the unique sports at the high school that has two seasons in one year that are both funded out of the same account,” continues the announcement. “So the need to raise funds is even greater to make both of these championship programs run smoothly.”
