Historian to speak at Feb. 10 DAR meet

The Four Peaks Chapter of the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its next meeting Saturday, Feb. 10. February 10.

Guest speaker will be Leonard Marcisz. Originally from the corporate world, Marcisz became a devoted natural and historical preservationist. He served as president of the Arizona Historical Society and chairman of the board of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, along with consultant to the City of Scottsdale with regard to the procurement of archaeological services.

He is an expert historian on the McDowell Mountains and frequently writes articles and provides presentations to the public and students at Arizona State University. Marcisz will tell us all about Fort McDowell and the Stoneman Trail.

The Four Peaks Chapter of the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its next meeting Saturday, Feb. 10. February 10.

The meeting will be held at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 Fountain Hills Blvd in the Adult Education Room, located on the lower level in the back parking lot.

The program is open to the public and begins at 8:30 a.m. with a social half hour followed by the speaker and meeting.
