Many members of the Courtside Villas Community are disappointed in the behavior of our HOA board president. He recently orchestrated a letter to our community claiming that two of our neighbors gathered information inappropriately for presentation to the HOA board.
This is not true. Any community member is well within their right to make suggestions at any board meeting. The letter also claimed that fees have not been raised when, in fact, property management and HOA dues have increased over the past five years.
Unfortunately, many members of our community are not well versed in the Arizona statutes, declaration, by-Laws and rules of our association. If more of our neighbors would get involved, they would clearly see that many HOA association rules are and have been violated for years.

The letter issued by the board president was unprofessional and clearly an attempt to discredit the efforts of those who truly wish to bring our community together and hold the board members to their fiduciary duties.
Bids for all work should be done on a regular basis. This has not been done with the current property management group in many years and again, we are facing another 4 percent increase in fees in 2015, which will increase our HOA dues. Our property management company is also conducting HOA work that should be done by a secretary, president or treasurer. Amenities and services have decreased over the years while our property management fees continue to rise.
Many in our community feel that they are targeted and bullied by the HOA board. The letter issued by our board president is just another example of this. I sincerely hope that more of our community will become involved in the process.
