Regarding salt, Mr. Lessig from SunRidge Canyon seems to believe that we all should switch to potassium for our home water softening systems, which would solve the issue of brine in our effluent.
Instead of proceeding to the so-called “panacea,” I would think that all the courses would look at brine-resistant grasses and the use of gypsum, which has a neutralizing effect on salt.
Being an avid golfer, I also want our golf courses to be able to sustain themselves and grow.

However, a quick reaction to the current situation without investigating viable solutions is not the best avenue for progress.
This discussion should include our golf courses and the Sanitary District, along with the people of our great town. Hopefully, common sense will prevail in dealing with this chronic issue.
