The L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum & Exploration Center’s annual “funraiser” Holiday Mart 2024 shopping event will soon take over the Center with gently used holiday décor, wreaths and a variety of Christmas trees for purchase.

This year’s holiday extravaganza opens Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m.

All year long busy elves (River of Time volunteers) source, transport, sort and price hundreds of items at “Santa’s Warehouse” (River of Time storage).

A week before the sale opens, Little Moves Inc. packs up the warehouse and transports everything to the center.

A new crew joins the busy elves and together, they unpack and display the items donated by the community.

This year, the warehouse is filled with holiday items, according to a press release.

Holiday Mart was the brainchild of one of the River of Time’s original volunteers, Arlie Denomme.

Now in its 10th year, Holiday Mart 2024 will generate income for the River of Time’s year-round operations.

Profits from this year’s event will fund the operational budget for 2025 allowing expanded programming and new events, the press release read.

The Riverbanks Gift Shop can add to the shopping experience where visitors will discover a selection of new gift items, all focused on the Southwest and incorporating the River of Time exhibit stories.

A range of illustrated children’s books and plush animals are featured as well as jewelry by local artists at a range of prices.

Members will receive a 10% discount on all items in the shop.

The River of Time is open for exploring during Holiday Mart hours.

Holiday Mart 2024 will run from Nov. 19 through Dec. 21 or until sold out.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10  a.m. to 4 p.m.
