‘Twas the night before Christmas for the Senate and the House, and they were all out to dinner with their mistress or their spouse. At a fancy restaurant few of us could afford and some Dom Perignon in case they got bored.

With steak and lobster and a champagne toast, and it was paid for by the lobbyist host. Another bottle of Dom Perignon, these lobbyist guys sure take care of their own.

On Donner and Blitzen, it’s time to go home. My wife and I are totally stoned. It’s Christmas day and time to open our gifts, most of them donated by lobbyists. Wow, a home theater system and the newest iPad, that sure was nice of that lobbyist lad.

I looked out the window when I heard my wife sigh, a brand new car from that corporate guy. Look, a Paris vacation on a flight that’s first class, and a thank you note for the bill that I passed. A huge donation for my charity selection, guess I’ll use it all for my next election.
