Homeless count in Fountain Hills drops

Annual point-in-time count released

Homelessness in Fountain Hills dropped by over 50% in 2026, according to a recent report. It’s important to note, however, the local statistics are dealing with low numbers to begin with.

Last year, Fountain Hills’ unsheltered homeless count went up over 400% with five individuals counted during the Maricopa Association of Governments’ annual point-in-time street count, which determines the number of people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County at any given time.

This year’s count was taken on Jan. 26, 2026, and reports notes just two people experiencing homelessness with locally, with numbers mirroring that of county-wide trends.
