It never ceases to amaze me how I still observe people walking their dogs in the middle of the day when the temps are over 100.
On Saturday, I saw three people walking their dogs at 2:30 in the afternoon when the temperature was near 110. While you, the owner, carries your chilled water bottle and are wearing cushiony, heat proof shoes, your poor dog’s feet are burning on the concrete, and their internal organs are beginning to fail because they cannot sweat.

No, really! Your dog is hot!

Rule of thumb: If you can’t walk on the ground in bare feet because it is too hot, then your dog can’t either!
