The final school board meeting of the 2013-14 academic year will be held Wednesday evening, July 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the District Learning Center.

Being primarily a housekeeping meeting before taking a short break and coming back in August to kick things off for the 2014-15 academic year, the evening’s agenda includes a slew of consent agenda items including naming district employees authorized to suspend students, certified evaluators, check signers and various other annual I’s and T’s in need of dots and crosses.

Gathered together under the consent agenda, these items will be approved in one single motion unless a board member wishes to discuss one or more in further detail.

The major items comprising tonight’s meeting both deal with money, including a vote to adopt an early draft of the 2014-15 budget, as well as the governing board’s argument “for” the capital override election scheduled for November.

With the election only a handful of months away, the board will consider language to be included on upcoming ballots and election pamphlets. Those interested in getting a sneak peek at the argument are invited to attend this evening’s meeting, which is open to the public.
