“Hubris goeth before the fall,” and what does that mean to bureaucrats, also known as entrenched government personnel? Not very much, if anything at all, if they do not abide with humility. It is their high government rating that think will keep them in their high-paid jobs.
Governments that become “good old boy” pyramidal structures not capable of governing have been seen throughout history. That government usually ends in some form of catastrophe because of lack of exercising controls.
Capitalism is both constructive and destructive. And both construct and destruct is necessary to its well-being. If government bureaucrats cannot be laid off, displaced or sustain work in force reductions for cause – i.e. be fired – then the destructive part of capitalism is laid aside and uncontrolled forces insure catastrophe.

The Town of Fountain Hills, over a 25-year period, has had revenue inflows totaling perhaps $500- to $750 million dollars over those years. So, exactly how many millions of those dollars has been paid out to the former town attorney for his tenure period and for various town managers and others? Yet, our roads remain in a falling down condition.
Previous town councils and perhaps this one, too, have surrounded themselves by their own created verge. Look it up. Those council are the “grasshoppers” to the “ants” of town residents. Aesop’s Fable states, “the grasshoppers were not welcomed by the ants.”
Reduce expenditures and/or create entrepreneurial enterprises that generate wealth for the town.
