As pastors we must speak out, we must stand. The controversy over legalized abortion in the United States has escalated recently due to new laws being passed in multiple states allowing the abortion of a child up until the time of birth.
While human opinions have changed over the years, the opinion of God as voiced in the Bible has not. We are made in the image of God, and as the psalmist tells us in Psalm 139, “we are knitted together in our mother’s womb.”

As believers in God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and representatives of His church we are compelled to speak firmly against the suggestion that abortion is a choice acceptable before God. We must speak up for those who have no voice or whose voices have been silenced. All human life is a gift from God, precious and therefore deserves protection!
We must also speak up for the women and men who have been misled by our culture, courts and legislatures into accepting and participating in the abortion of a child. To them we speak God’s promise of forgiveness of sins in Jesus, and the welcomed return to His family for all those who have done wrong.
