OPINION – Again, the Town Council meeting Nov. 18 was a complete joke. The public came out in droves to oppose the suspension of the call to public and the council members’ reports.
During the agenda discussion on this issue, one succinct, passionate, intelligent speaker encapsulated all the arguments of those opposed. I would highly recommend watching this amazing 13-year-old address the council on the You Tube recording of the meeting at the 1:13:57 mark. If that doesn’t make you proud, nothing will.
The vast majority of very compelling and heartfelt feedback the council received from the weary public was to vote no on the item. The vote? 5-2 in favor. They seem to have their own agenda and don’t care a whit about their constituents’ opinions. I, along with others, believe that is the job of our elected members. I guess they don’t care what we have to say. There will be no accountability if the public is silenced
