What difference is there in the “slight of hand” measurement called Gross Domestic Product (GDP) when you in the past paid $300 for a gold crown to repair your tooth? And now that same gold crown costs you $1200. What does it mean? To you it is obvious, you must pay $900 more.
Most ordinary people must work strenuously to put together that additional $900. But what does it mean to the federal government? The government counts that $900 as an increase to the GDP. Historically since about 1955, the U.S. government collects 18-21 percent of GDP in the form of taxes. It means a windfall to the U.S. government, and it works no more strenuously.
Donald Trump, Milton Friedman and most governing types know the above fact. So who is being kidded?

Printing of fiat money, its expansion, to the tune of $8 trillion more debt. U.S. sovereign debt, has one and only expressed purpose so that it can be taxes. Meaning prices must go up.
Ms. Merkel of Germany gave and Mr. Tsipras of Greece took and both continue their “game.” Another $60 billion Euros debt piled up on top of about $250 billion Euros debt owed to the “troika.” Proving once again: “One cannot repudiate debt and still have a game.”
The people or volk of Greece can now be known as “odd lotters,” that is, those that are always wrong. They really did not understand how close they came to catastrophe. They’ll have three more years and hopefully will get it “together” like stoic Portugal.
