Today’s political tea party has a large agenda. I’d suggest a different political party: the Iced Tea Party. Obviously, iced tea is the better choice for Arizona’s triple digit summer temperatures.

This Iced Tea Party would base its platform on what is good and right about our country and avoid criticizing both the Republican and Democratic parties as they continue to bad mouth each other.

We choose to sing praises of our good old U.S.A. Anyone who believes in and loves our country would automatically be members. They would be realists but strive for idealistic goals. After examining all sides they would make decisions as individuals, not as a herd of sheep blindly following party leaders and TV talking heads.

They would dig deeply to discover what strings are attached to proposals and seek out any self-interest or benefits.

The strength of our nation comes from the strength of all of us reaching for those goals that guarantee a great future for our great-grandchildren. We fail only when the positions of political parties overpower individual reason, creating a murky confusion!

The Iced Tea Party Board of Directors would consist of all members working together to build a strong platform that refuses to continue our interventions in foreign conflicts that have existed for 2,000 years, while providing for all veterans and their families more effectively. A platform that provides ways of promoting American jobs, businesses and industries.

The Iced Tea Party would have no dues or fund-raising campaigns, and consist of individuals who think and act independently, ignore mob mentality, political correctness and peer pressure. How can such a great idea not make our great nation even stronger?

The Iced Tea Party will move the USA from confusions to conclusions and solutions beneficial to all.
