As a part-time resident of Fountain Hills I have listened with great interest to the comments regarding the pending vote for a property tax.

For the past nine years I have spent my winters here, enjoying all that Arizona has to offer while escaping the infamous Canadian winters. As a Canadian citizen I know I can’t vote in the election but I still have a stake in its outcome.

I chose to invest in this community for the same reasons that so many others have. Fountain Hills has everything I was looking for; beauty, serenity and great golf courses. However, over the last nine years the town is starting to show some wear and tear. The street in front of my house has lots of cracks and from what I read, this is not unique to my neighborhood. I also appreciate the fine services we get from our police and fire departments.

For these reasons I am in favor of the tax initiative and hope that it passes come May. Please consider how important this vote is for protecting our property values. If I could vote it would be yes. I hope you feel the way I do.
