The 4th of July, Independence Day, 2014 -- the 238th anniversary of the day when a group of courageous visionaries gave their approval to our Declaration of Independence.
Two days later, on July 6, 1776, the Declaration was proclaimed for the first time in public. Those who would in the ensuing days and weeks affix their signatures to the document attested that in “support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
They were willing to sacrifice all that they had for the principles of independence and liberty, which have created the miracle that is the United States of America, a nation that offers the greatest freedom and opportunity of any nation in history, and a government which, in the words of the Constitution, answers to “We, the people.”

What has become of this nation in recent years? In October, 2008, we were told that, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” In January, 2009, we were promised that, “Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.” Later in 2009, 2010...we were told, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period.”
We were told that Obamacare would save the average family about $2500 per year in insurance premiums. We were told that the attack in Benghazi, Libya was a random event prompted by a YouTube video, despite available intelligence at the time which proved that to be false.
These are some examples of how the current administration dishonors our founding principles and sacrifices which made our country great. Part 2 to come.
