It’s hard to imagine a more ironic and amusing letter than the lecture about civility written by John Kavanagh.
The Arizona Republic recognized him with “The Backstroke in the Gutter Award” for his House campaign years ago, and he has not improved. His tactics were too distasteful to describe here, but let the quote from the paper suffice:
“Politics is a dirty business, but it doesn’t have to wallow in the sewer. This flier wasn't necessary… (and) said far more about Kavanagh'’ character… He ought to be ashamed.”

He takes exception to two grown men having a disagreement, long since resolved, and includes untrue statements to make his weak point.
All this from the State Appropriations Chair who tried to sneak almost a million dollars to a private prison during the waning hours of the budget passage, something even his cohorts couldn’t tolerate.
