Motorists planning to travel between Fountain Hills and Mesa on Sunday, Nov. 17, want to be aware that there will be a traffic restriction on the Beeline Highway (SR87) between Shea Boulevard and McKellips Road in Mesa for the Ironman Triathlon out of Tempe.
The race usually restricts vehicle traffic to two lanes, one in each direction, on the highway, to allow the bicycle portion of the race to use the other two lanes. The restriction is in place all day.
This will result in slower traffic and longer travel time. Motorists are urged to use caution as there will be pedestrians and bicyclists along the roadway.
