It takes a village

It would be great if the state completely funded our schools.

Sadly, it seems education is the first thing cut when the state budget gets tight. For that reason, it is important for the citizens to come to the rescue of the children of Fountain Hills.

We have excellent schools because we have always supported them. Now as infrastructure ages and funding for all-day kindergarten runs out, we must once again step up to the plate. It is our civic duty to make certain our schools stay top notch.

We have excellent schools because we have always supported them. Now as infrastructure ages and funding for all-day kindergarten runs out, we must once again step up to the plate. It is our civic duty to make certain our schools stay top notch.

The budget override will help FHUSD recruit and retain the best teachers. It will also guarantee funding for free all-day kindergarten to give our children the best start in their academic careers.

The School District is also asking for a capital improvement bond to repair aging and outdated infrastructure. One can easily understand how this is needed… air conditioning, lighting fixtures, playgrounds and fields all deteriorate with use.

A technology upgrade is vitally important, as well, to keep our children competitive in a rapidly changing world.

I urge you all to join me in voting yes on these two ballot issues. We must make certain all Fountain Hills children have a safe, up-to-date environment in which to learn and advance.
