PHOENIX – Three new license plates have been added to the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division’s list of specialty plates – Italian American Heritage, Kidney Disease Awareness and Suicide Prevention.
The new plates bring the total of offerings for Arizona drivers to 107, “a fun way to customize your vehicle and show your support for one of these uniquely Arizona organizations,” MVD Director Michael Cryderman said.
MVD now offers 107 specialty license plates that can be viewed and ordered at azmvdnow.gov/plates.
Most specialty plates cost $25 each year. Of that amount, $17 goes to a designated charity or nonprofit group, according to ADOT. During the fiscal year that ended June 30, sales of specialty plates contributed over $15.8 million for various causes and charities.
New plates:
Italian American Heritage
"The National Italian American Foundation is proud to bring Italian American pride to the roads of Arizona,” Robert Allegrini, president and CEO, National Italian American Foundation, said in the ADOT release.
“This plate is more than a way to customize your vehicle - it connects Arizona drivers to a community of more than 20 million Italian Americans across the country and to the enduring values of Italian culture that have shaped American life for generations."
Kidney Disease Awareness
“The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona specialty plate gives drivers a meaningful way to show support for the thousands of Arizona families impacted by kidney disease every day,” Leslie McReynolds, CEO of the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona, said.
“Every plate purchased helps provide hope, education, patient support services and life-saving resources to individuals navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives.” For more: www.azkidney.org.
Suicide Prevention
"Solari is honored to launch the Suicide Prevention specialty license plate that helps raise awareness for 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline,” Solari CEO Justin Chase said.
“Every plate on the road is an opportunity to remind people that help is available 24/7.”
