“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”

The above quotation is attributed to Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known simply as Dr. Seuss. But it couldn’t be more appropriate in describing today’s Club, Organization and Volunteer Fair organized by the Town of Fountain Hills and Cultural and Civic Association.

One of the more unique features of Fountain Hills is the strong core of volunteer groups that exist – seems a whole lot of people care a whole awful lot for all types of causes.

Can more be done?

Of course – that’s why today’s fair is being held. It gives a chance for citizens who want to become more involved an opportunity to check out the myriad of dedicated and hard-working groups that already exist here. They are always looking for more volunteers who want to get involved.

One can only watch so much cable TV – sometimes it’s better to get out of the house and meet people. Get involved. Volunteer for a worthy cause. Help other folks in some manner.

Today’s fair – from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Community Center – features social organizations, serve and support clubs, and clubs for kids and hobbyists. Representatives from the faith community with their volunteer needs will be present as well. In other words, a little bit of something for everyone.

Looking to get involved? Expand your boundaries? Help out mankind?

Attend today’s fair and see what’s out there. Because unless someone like you doesn’t care a whole awful lot, not much is going to get better. And better is always better, isn’t it?
