Jack W. Kuehn Sr. passed away at age 99 on Aug. 15, 2015.

Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a great friend to many. He had a lifetime commitment to physical fitness and sports from football to fencing, swimming, track, golf, and tennis.

In his 34-plus years of “snowbirding” to Rio Verde, he was especially dedicated to promoting Pickleball and to playing golf, tennis and bridge.

He was also a visionary businessman, who talked his brokerage-based family into considering a non-oil separating peanut butter and eventually became president of Skippy Peanut Butter’s only franchise – based in St. Louis Park, Minn.

He also promoted the first “already buttered when it popped” popcorn, established a break bulk terminal for plastics, and founded a warehouse and plastic recycling plant in Burnsville, Minn.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Penny, sons Jack Jr. (Andrea), Richard (Jackie), and Robert (Kathy), seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jack was a 55-year member of the Minneapolis Rotary Club and a 60-plus year member of the Minikahda Country Club, where he began as the first Junior Member selected. He was a member of the Verdes Community Church in Rio Verde and St. Martin’s by-the-Lake Episcopal Church in Minnetonka Beach, Minn.

Memorial services will be held in October in Arizona and Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Martin’s in Minnesota.
